This journey has been a powerful blend of learning, unlearning, and joyful discovery, shaped by deep conversations and collaboration with cohorts from across geographies.
Being selected as one of the 50 fellows from numerous global applications was a proud milestone. This fellowship in Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) has significantly strengthened my professional and personal practice. It has empowered me to develop greater patience, mindful listening, and deeper empathy, particularly while working with SEN (Special Educational Needs) students. By introducing emotional vocabulary and simple SEL tools, I’ve seen students better understand and express their feelings, while I’ve also learned to set healthy boundaries, regulate my own emotions, and create a classroom that fosters safety, connection, and joyful learning. This experience has reinforced my belief that when we nurture emotional wellbeing, we create space for genuine growth—both for our students and ourselves.
Excited to carry forward these insights and continue contributing towards building emotionally resilient, inclusive, and joyful learning ecosystems. Today is more than a convocation for me — it is a milestone of growth, reflection, and transformation. This fellowship taught me to look beyond academics and understand the emotional world of every young mind. I am grateful to TISS for creating a space where learning, empathy, and purpose come together. As I step forward, I carry with me the values of service, compassion, and resilience that this program has strengthened in me. I look forward to contributing meaningfully to the well-being of students - adolescents and continuing the work - all begun here.
